Mets ace Matt Harvey continues to have a smooth recovery after undergoing Tommy John surgery in October of last year. As Adam Rubin of ESPN New York writes, Harvey is slated to throw from a mound next week for the first time since the operation.

This past season Harvey pitched to a 2.27 ERA, 157 ERA+ and 6.16 K/BB ratio in 178 1/3 innings of work. He was in the NL Cy Young mix until the elbow injury of note shut him down in late August. Across parts of two major-league seasons, Harvey owns a 152 ERA+ and has struck out 261 batters in 237 2/3 innings.

As Rubin writes, there's almost no chance that Harvey -- contrary to the 25-year-old right-hander's stated wishes -- will pitch this season, but the Mets have to like where he's at when it comes to his contributing meaningfully in 2015.
