Giants starting pitcher Jake Peavy had a perfect game through 6 1/3 innings against the Mets in Citi Field Saturday night. Mets starter Jacob deGrom was matching zeroes for a while, too, as he had a no-hitter going through 6 2/3 innings. He coughed up a double to Pablo Sandoval to end his no-hit bid. Only a walk issued to Brandon Belt prevented this thing from having two perfect games going through six innings.

Peavy's perfect game bid was broken up by a Daniel Murphy double to left -- with a major assist to Mike Morse's terrible range.

Unsurprisingly, there has never been a game where neither team recorded a hit. It's possible, if one of the two teams manages to score a run with some combination of errors, walks and hit batsmen, but obviously it's incredibly unlikely. This one was probably as close as we'll see this season.
