VIDEO: Joe Nathan and Tigers fans aren't getting along right now

On Wednesday night, the Tigers prevailed over the Pirates by a score of 8-4, but there was a bit of late-inning uncertainty courtesy of Detroit closer Joe Nathan. Nathan, who's lugging around an ERA north of 5.00 on the season, walked the first two batters of the ninth. At that point, the Comerica Park crowd voiced their displeasures, and then Mr. Nathan seemed to gesture his displeasures. See for yourself ...

Ultimately, this kind of thing isn't a big deal. It's happened many times before, and it'll happen many times hence. Struggling players understandably get frustrated and take leave of their better judgment at times (on another level, booing your team's players for anything other than a transparent lack of effort has always struck me as pretty silly).

Still, Nathan's given them something to talk about in Detroit, and not in a good way.
