Nick Swisher's season is over. The Indians outfielder/first baseman is heading for surgery on not one, but both knees, the team announced:

Swisher, 33, has been hobbled all season by knee problems. He hit .208/.278/.331 (74 OPS+) with 20 doubles and eight home runs in 97 games this year, way down from his 2009-13 performance (122 OPS+).
The Indians signed Swisher to a four-year, $56 million contract prior to last season. He is owed $15 million in both 2015 and 2016 before a $14 million vesting option for 2017 comes into play.
