VIDEO: Daniel Hudson returns to MLB after two Tommy John surgeries

By Mike Axisa | Baseball Writer

Baseball has lost many, many good pitchers to Tommy John surgery this year, but there is finally one feel-good success story.

Diamondbacks right-hander Daniel Hudson, who needed two Tommy John procedures (July 2012 and June 2013), returned to the big leagues on Wednesday night and fired a perfect inning in relief. Here's the video:

Pretty awesome moment for Hudson after more than two years of grueling rehab and hard work.

Hudson, now 27, last pitched in MLB on June 26, 2012. He suffered his first ulnar collateral ligament tear, had Tommy John surgery, re-tore the ligament during the rehab, then had the surgery a second time. That's rough.

During his last full season with Arizona, Hudson went 16-12 with a 3.49 ERA and a 3.38 K/BB in 222 innings back in 2011.
