Google Chrome trick that could give you an edge

By Chris Towers |

At this point, if you aren't at least familiar with advanced metrics, you're falling behind your Fantasy baseball competitors. Seeing a hot tag next to a player's name might be enough to pique your interest, but you need to look deeper to see if Gerardo Parra is really worth your time after a fast start.

So, while we provide plenty of information, there are plenty of other worthwhile resources around the net if you want to take a deeper look at some players on your own. Recently, a buddy of mine showed me an extension for Google Chrome that puts some of the best of those resources a click away for any player in leagues.

This is what your new free agency page will look like.

All you have to do is go to the Chrome Web Store and add the extension to your browser and these little logos will magically appear on every page on our site. Want to take a look at Seth Smith's HR/FB rate for the last few years? Just click on the FanGraphs logo next to his name and see just how sustainable any power surge might be.

If you're anything like me, you'll end up having 12 tabs open while doing research for your next waiver-wire move, so this plug-in will help streamline the process for you. Fantasy owners need to be looking at whatever they can to get an edge on their opponents, and this is one small way you might be able to get a leg up on your competition.
