A look at some of the hot hitters

By Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer

I'll admit it: I'm coming around to Colby Rasmus as a credible power source -- or perhaps even more.

Not everyone is sold, as you'll see in this clip from Friday's Fantasy Baseball Today. No doubt, he has his faults -- a high strikeout rate chief among them -- but even if they condemn him to a batting average in the .250-.260 range, what's stopping him from becoming another Jay Bruce? If he reaches 30 home runs, I have a feeling his supporting numbers will be similar. He's one-third of the way there already.

A power breakthrough at age 27 -- or 26, as I argue in the video -- isn't terribly uncommon, especially for a player with Rasmus' pedigree. He's shown enough already for me to take the plunge.
