Second-year starting pitchers driving us crazy

By Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer

Disappointed with what you've gotten from Zack Wheeler, Danny Salazar, Shelby Miller, Tony Cingrani and, yes, maybe even Gerrit Cole so far? You're not alone. They were among the most hyped second-year pitchers coming into the season, and while you can point to Michael Wacha and Sonny Gray as living up to expectations, that's a pretty low success rate overall.

Which isn't to say the other five are lost causes. Cole has at least been decent, and Cingrani, because of the DL stint, hasn't really gotten a fair shake. Still, their performances so far had us rethinking our approach to second-year pitchers while breaking them down individually on Thursday's Fantasy Baseball Today.

We have plenty more in store Friday, including Week 8 (May 19-25) matchup info. Tune in at noon ET or call us at 877-627-9777 to have your question answered live.
