Coming into the season I wasn't a big fan of drafting Donaldson, despite a breakout season in 2013. Early on in the season I looked wise to trust my instinct as Donaldson got off to a slow start. However, he turned it around quickly and is making me look like a fool for passing him over in drafts. He's batting .300 with .398 on-base percentage, .589 slugging percentage and .987 OPS in his last 46 games.
Donaldson entered play Thursday as the highest-scoring Fantasy third baseman in Head-to-Head and Rotisserie formats. For his early season performance, I felt it was fitting to move Donaldson to No. 3 in the third-base rankings, ahead of Mets third baseman David Wright and Rays third baseman Evan Longoria. Donaldson definitely deserved it, and hopefully he can keep it going for Fantasy owners.
As far as some of the other interesting moves in my rankings this week, I bumped Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig to No. 5 in the outfielder rankings and Brewers outfielder Carlos Gomez to No. 7. Mike Minor got bumped into the top 20 among starting pitchers, while Kyle Lohse and Ryan Vogelsong joined the top 50, and Jaime Garcia, Jorge De La Rosa, Jenrry Mejia and Nick Tepesch all made significant jumps as well.
