Not a bounty of two-start options in Fantasy Week 10

By Al Melchior | Data Analyst

As we do each and every Friday, Scott White, Adam Aizer and I reviewed the borderline two-start options for the coming week on Fantasy Baseball Today. The latter part of the list includes pitchers like Yovani Gallardo and Bartolo Colon who present more than their fair share of risk, so this might be a week where you also look at one-start options on waivers, as well as those with two scheduled starts.

One pitcher to consider is Rafael Montero. Though he has already allowed four home runs and nine walks in his 16 1/3 innings, he has also delivered 17 strikeouts. Of his three starts, only his appearance against the Dodgers was truly bad, and in Fantasy Week 10 (June 2-8), he gets his most favorable matchup yet in the form of the Cubs. They are one of the majors' worst power- and contact-hitting teams, so Montero could go deep into the game and provide a bevy of strikeouts.

I recommended Montero over a two-start Charlie Morton in this week's Pitching Options segment, and I highlighted five other one-start pitchers who I'd prefer over a borderline two-start option. Tune in to see who they are and what Scott and Adam had to say about these one-start versus two-start dilemmas.
