Are Justin Verlander and Joey Votto still worth buying low?

By Al Melchior | Data Analyst

Justin Verlander has remained in a persistent slump for much of this season, yet there are plenty of Fantasy owners who still want to own him. That must be the case, because he is currently the most traded player in leagues.

Scott White and I weren't sure we were among the owners who were interested in buying Verlander on the cheap, but on Wednesday's Trades segment of Fantasy Baseball Today, we found one scenario we could agree upon that would make it worthwhile to acquire him.

We also looked at three different trade scenarios for Joey Votto, who has raised his batting average since coming off the disabled list, but has continued to find extra-base hits to be scarce. Finally, we considered some potential trades that would involve dealing Mike Trout away, and I was surprised to find that there were a couple of offers that were tempting. The price is steep, but how steep would it have to be to pry Trout loose from our teams?

You'll have to tune in to find out...
