Colorado at Los Angeles

Venue: Dodger Stadium

If the Los Angeles Dodgers are to break even on a 10-game homestand, they'll have to do so without Hanley Ramirez in the lineup.

Another hand injury has reaffirmed that the veteran shortstop will sit out Sunday's series finale against the Colorado Rockies.

A little more than a week after he was hit in the left hand by a pitch from San Francisco's Ryan Vogelsong, Ramirez left Saturday's 6-3 win in the fourth inning with a bruised right thumb. X-rays were negative, but manager Don Mattingly had designs on giving Ramirez the day off prior to the injury.

"We're hoping it's not too bad," Mattingly told the team's official website. "He was off (Sunday) anyway. We talked five days ago and he knew he was going to get (Sunday) off."

Ramirez, who began last season on the disabled list with a torn ligament in the same thumb, is 8 for 20 with four doubles in five games since going 1 for 17 in his previous five contests.

"I'm good," Ramirez said. "It had nothing to do with my surgery (last year)."

Even without him on the field Sunday, Los Angeles (14-11) hopes to build on its second victory in six games since opening the homestand by taking two of three from Atlanta.

Adrian Gonzalez homered, had two RBIs and was one of five Dodgers with two hits Saturday. The first baseman, who collected his 1,500th hit with the fifth-inning home run, is 6 for 13 with three homers and five RBIs in the last three games.

The Dodgers will hand the ball to Hyun-jin Ryu (3-1, 2.12 ERA), whose streak of 18 scoreless innings ended when he allowed two runs in the fifth and lasted one more frame during a 3-2, 10-inning loss to Philadelphia on Tuesday.

"He was really good again," manager Don Mattingly told the Dodgers' official website.

Ryu, however, is 0-3 with a 6.50 ERA in his last four regular-season starts at Chavez Ravine.

One of those defeats came Sept. 29, when he gave up two runs and eight hits in four innings of a 2-1 loss to Colorado (13-12). The left-hander allowed two runs and three hits while striking out 12 in six innings of a 6-2 home win over the Rockies earlier in 2013.

Colorado third baseman and Southern California native Nolan Arenado went 0 for 4 versus Ryu in 2013, but is batting .338 during a career-high 16-game hitting streak.

Rockies starter Jorge De La Rosa (1-3, 6.38) went 0-8 with a 6.66 ERA in his first 10 career starts versus Los Angeles, but has a 2.77 ERA while winning his last two against the Dodgers - both at Coors Field.

At Dodger Stadium, the left-hander is 0-4 with a 3.99 ERA in six starts.

De La Rosa went 0-2 with a 9.69 ERA in his first three starts this season, but has gone 1-1 with a 2.45 ERA since then. He allowed a run in five innings of an 8-2 win over San Francisco on Monday, keeping the ball in the park for the first time in his five outings.

"He pitched into some trouble but pitched out of it, which is a good sign," manager Walt Weiss told the Rockies' official website. "Pitching out of jams, that's what he's struggled with early on."

De La Rosa has had some issues against a pair of Dodgers sluggers. Gonzalez is 12 for 32 with a .447 on-base percentage in their matchups, while Matt Kemp is 11 for 26 with three doubles and three homers.
