SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - On the day Rockies manager Jim Tracy announced his first four starters, a candidate for the fifth spot made his own pitch for the rotation.

Ty Wigginton and Ben Paulsen each drove in two runs, Greg Reynolds went six innings and Colorado beat the Milwaukee Brewers 9-7 on Friday.

Afterward, Tracy said Ubaldo Jimenez, Jorge De La Rosa, Jhoulys Chacin and Jason Hammel would open the regular season in that order.

"I consider this a formality," Tracy said. "All four of them have made a lot of strides. We're pretty proud of that."

Jimenez was roughed up for seven runs Thursday and Tracy said De La Rosa "wasn't quite as sharp after missing a start" in his minor league stint on Friday.

Reynolds, who got through the third inning unscathed, gave up six runs and nine hits. He struck out two and did not walk a batter as he remains in contention to earn the rotation spot that opened when Aaron Cook broke bones in a finger on his right hand earlier this spring.

"The first time through the order he was very, very good," Tracy said. "The challenge is quality of pitches through the second time around. You can't falter with that. I thought he competed very well."

Carlos Gonzalez, Troy Tulowitzki, Ryan Spilborghs and Jose Morales also drove in runs for the Rockies, who won their 10th in the last 12 games.

Felipe Paulino worked the ninth for a save and Tracy said he's making a smooth transition from starter to the bullpen.

"It's been very intriguing as we move forward," Tracy said. "The opportunities will be there in the season. His fastball is there and well."

Prince Fielder hit a three-run homer and Ryan Braun had two hits and drove in a run for the Brewers, who lost for the second time in eight games. Mark Kotsay, Yuniesky Betancourt and Mat Gamel also had RBIs.

Milwaukee starter Wily Peralta, in his first start of the spring and fifth appearance, recorded one out before leaving the game after allowing five runs on five hits. He walked two batters.

"He just threw too many pitches," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said. "Rick (Kranitz) wasn't comfortable having him continue. If this was the regular season and he was 100 percent, he's going to throw more pitches."

Peralta has pitched his way into contention for a rotation spot with the Brewers, though he didn't help his cause Friday. He gave up a single to Seth Smith and then threw a wild pitch. Jose Lopez hit a ball to deep center that moved Smith to third. Peralta never got another out as six straight Rockies reached base safely.

NOTES: Brewers RHP Tim Dillard replaced Peralta and threw 2 2-3 scoreless innings. RHP Sean Green followed with two scoreless innings. ... A crowd of 12,497 made it five consecutive sellouts for Rockies home games. ... Paulsen is hitting .458 (11 for 24) with 11 RBIs this spring. ... Roenicke said RHP Shaun Marcum "will probably not throw his next start" due to tightness in his shoulder.
