On the MLB hot stove front, here's all that's worth knowing for Sunday, Jan. 26 ...

- Milwaukee Brewers : Announced the signing of RHP Matt Garza to a four-year, $50-million contract that also includes a $13-million vesting option for 2018.

- Arizona Diamondbacks : Signed OF/1B Shelley Duncan to a minor-league contract.

- Ervin Santana : Bob Dutton hears that Santana, in the wake of Matt Garza's deal, is now unlikely to fetch more than $40 million over three years. If that's the case, then that would certainly increase the number of teams with genuine interest in the 31-year-old right-hander's services. As for specifics, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports that the Yankees, Dodgers, Rockies, Orioles and Mariners are among the teams with at least some interest in Santana. Other possible suitors, according to Cotillo, include the Blue Jays, Diamondbacks, Royals and Tigers.

- Cleveland Indians : The team is likely to discuss a long-term contract extension with 2B Jason Kipnis during spring training. (Paul Hoynes via Twitter)

- Mariners: Greg Johns of reports that the M's have interest in free agent RHP Scott Baker .

- Pittsburgh Pirates : Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe writes that the Pirates aren't likely to go after starting pitching on the market even if A.J. Burnett opts for retirement. Pittsburgh would, however, like to add a first baseman.

- Cincinnati Reds : C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer tweets that Cincy manager Bryan Price says the team would like to get more than 60 innings out of closer Aroldis Chapman this season ... According to's Mark Sheldon, GM Walt Jocketty, despite a clear need in the outfield, says the team isn't interested in signing Nelson Cruz because doing so would entail the loss of a first-round draft pick.

- Minnesota Twins : GM Terry Ryan confirms that the Twins have some interest in LHP Johan Santana , but Ryan also says that Santana won't be ready for game action until "the summer" portion of the 2014 season. (Mike Berardino via Twitter)

- Chicago White Sox : In the opinion of's Scott Merkin, Nate Jones is the favorite to open the season as White Sox closer.
