•Legendary pitching coach Dave Duncan will be sharing his wisdom with the Diamondbacks next season. 

•Longtime utility man/infielder Mark DeRosa, most recently of the Blue Jays, announced his retirement on Tuesday

•The Phillies signed OF Marlon Byrd to a two-year, $16-million contract

•Clint Hurdle of the Pirates was named NL Manager of the Year for 2013, while Terry Francona of the Indians won for the American League

•The mayor of Atlanta announced plans to demolish Turner Field after the Braves leave for a new Cobb County ballpark after the 2016 season.

•The Twins are reportedly engaged in talks with RHP Bronson Arroyo (Mike Berardino via Twitter).

•Yankees brass will meet with free agent 2B Robinson Cano next week (Andy McCullough via Twitter). 

•The Red Sox and LHP Jon Lester haven't yet started talking contract extension, but they likely will around the time spring training starts (Rob Bradford, WEEI). 

•The Blue Jays and Phillies may be talking about a major trade involving Jose Bautista and Domonic Brown.
