The Angels are using a 'designated runner' for Albert Pujols in Cactus League games.
Not quite sure how this has slipped under the radar until now, but:
Ah the joys of spring training.
Pujols, 33, is coming back from offseason right-knee surgery. He returned to the lineup ahead of schedule and is limited to DH duties at the moment, but the Angels expect him to play first base toward the end of camp. Until then, designated runners abound.
