More Deadline: Peavy scratched | Does Papelbon want out? | Rumors
In a move that may augur a trade out of Houston, Astros right-hander Bud Norris has been scratched from his scheduled Tuesday start against the Orioles. Instead, Lucas Harrell will take the mound.
Norris, the 28-year-old slider specialist, has pitched to a 3.93 ERA (104 ERA+), 1.41 WHIP and 2.09 K/BB ratio this season. Across parts of five major-league seasons, Norris owns an ERA+ of 92. He's not eligible for free agency until after the 2015 season, which should add to his appeal on the market.
Of note ...
#Astros' active 25-man payroll down to about $16 million with two months left in season. Would drop to $13 million if Bud Norris is traded.
