The Athletics have traded left-hander Tommy Milone to the Twins for outfielder Sam Fuld, Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com has confirmed. Ken Rosenthal and Jon Morosi of Fox Sports first reported the deal.

Milone, 27, asked the Athletics for a trade earlier this month after being sent to Triple-A following the Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel pickups. Oakland acquired Jon Lester on Thursday, further pushing the lefty down the depth chart.

In 16 starts this season, Milone is 6-3 with a 3.55 ERA. He is 32-22 with a 3.84 ERA in parts of four big league seasons. Milone is 1-1 with a 6.43 ERA in four Triple-A starts since being sent down.

Fuld, 32, hit .274/.370/.354 (104 OPS+) with one home run and 12 stolen bases in 53 games with Minnesota this year. He start the season with Oakland but was claimed off waivers by the Twins in April.
