Blue Jays place Brandon Morrow on DL with finger injury
A strained index finger on his pitching hand has forced Jays right-hander Brandon Morrow to the DL.
On Saturday, the Blue Jays placed right-hander Brandon Morrow on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained right index finger. To take Morrow's spot on the active roster, the Jays recalled right-hander Chad Jenkins from Triple-A.
This season, the 29-year-old Morrow has pitched to a 5.93 ERA and 1.53 K/BB ratio in six starts. In only one of those starts has he lasted at least six innings. For his career, Morrow owns an OPS+ of 99 across parts of eight major-league seasons.
To fill Morrow's spot in the rotation, it's possible that the Jays will call up top prospect Marcus Stroman.
