Yankees starting pitcher CC Sabathia has thrown his last pitch in 2013. The Yankees announced as much in the following press release Monday morning:

In his last start on Friday vs. San Francisco, LHP CC Sabathia suffered a Grade 2 left hamstring strain, which requires a recovery time of approximately eight weeks. As a result, Sabathia will not be able to pitch during the rest of the 2013 season.

Sabathia, 33, ends the season 14-13 with a 4.78 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 175 strikeouts in 211 innings. The rate stats (ERA, WHIP) are the worst in a single season in Sabathia's career, and he currently leads the majors with 112 earned runs allowed.
