Chris Davis leaves game with knee injury
Orioles first baseman Chris Davis left Friday's game with a right knee injury.
Orioles first baseman Chris Davis left Friday's game against the Angels in the top of the fifth inning with an apparent injury. The team has announced that it's a right knee injury, though nothing has been said as to the severity.
Davis injured the knee on a groundout as he was running to first base. He was replaced by Ryan Flaherty in the lineup.
Considering the start to the 2013 season Davis is having, losing him for any amount of time would be a serious blow to the Orioles. Davis is hitting .330/.431/.690 with nine homers and 29 RBI. He was the AL player of the month in April.
As far as options for the Orioles if Davis has to be put on the disabled list, it seems like either Russ Canzler or Travis Ishikawa -- who are both currently in Triple-A -- would be a logical choice.
