Clay Buchholz will start Game 2 of the American League Championship Series for the Red Sox, manager John Farrell announced Friday in his press conference. The Game 1 starter for the Red Sox will be Jon Lester, which was already known. Farrell also said John Lackey and Jake Peavy will be starting Games 3 and 4, respectively.

Buchholz, 29, went 12-1 with a 1.74 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 96 strikeouts in 108 1/3 innings this season. He may have engaged in a great battle for the AL Cy Young with Max Scherzer, but he was only able to make 16 starts due to an extended absence with right shoulder bursitis.

After returning from the injury, Buchholz went 3-1 with a 1.88 ERA in four regular-season starts before allowing three runs on seven hits and three walks in ALDS Game 3 against the Rays.
