David Ortiz becomes sixth player with 50 career postseason RBI
David Ortiz has joined Bernie Williams, Manny Ramirez, David Justice, Derek Jeter and Albert Pujols as the only men in MLB history with at least 50 postseason RBI.
The man we call Big Papi continues to build an impressive postseason dossier.
With an RBI single in the top of the fifth in Game 3 of the ALDS against the Rays, Red Sox slugger David Ortiz drove home his 50th career postseason run. That makes him the sixth man in history to achieve the feat.
The top five:
1. Bernie Williams, 80
2. Manny Ramirez, 78
3. David Justice, 63
4. Derek Jeter, 61
5. Albert Pujols, 52
Ortiz has the fewest number of plate appearances on the list, too.
If the Red Sox keep playing like they are right now, Ortiz will have plenty of chances to move on up the list.
