David Price thanks Rays, fans in full page ad in Tampa Bay Times
Former Rays starter David Price is set to make his Tigers debut Tuesday night, but he hasn't forgotten his past team.
Former Rays ace David Price is set to make his Tigers' debut Tuesday night, but he's far from forgotten his time with the Tampa Bay ballclub. Tuesday, he took out a full-page ad in the Tampa Bay Times:
Price was drafted by the Rays first overall in 2007, arrived late in 2008, was a stud reliever in the 2008 run to the World Series, and has since been an All-Star four times for the Rays. He won the Cy Young in 2012 and finished second in the voting in 2010. He's all over the career leaderboard in Rays history, in fact, it's fair to say he's easily the best pitcher in franchise history.
It would appear that the region and franchise had a big impact on the lefty, too.
Well done, Mr. Price.
