Dodgers activate second baseman Mark Ellis

The Dodgers have activated second baseman Mark Ellis from the 15-day disabled list. Ellis had been sidelined since April 27 with a strained right quad. To make room on the active roster, the Dodgers have optioned catcher Tim Federowicz back to Triple-A Albuquerque. 

This season, Ellis is batting a nifty .342/.363/.452 in 80 plate appearances. For his career, Ellis owns an OPS+ of 95. He's slated to be in the lineup against the Braves on Sunday.
