Dodgers place Hyun-Jin Ryu on DL with shoulder inflammation
Potentially troubling news for the Dodgers, as lefty starter Hyun-Jin Ryu has landed on the 15-day disabled list with a bum shoulder.
Ryu had been scheduled to start Sunday against the Marlins. As MLB.com's Ken Gurnick tweets, Stephen Fife seems likely to take the mound in Ryu's stead, although the Dodgers at this writing haven't made an announcement.
This season, the 27-year-old Ryu has an ERA of 3.00 after seven starts. In his rookie season of 2013, he pitched to a 3.00 ERA (120 ERA+) and 3.14 K/BB ratio in 192 innings of work.
