In the ninth inning of the Twins' eventual 5-3 win over Rays on Saturday (box score), visiting Colby Rasmus homered into the Target Field seats. A certain Twins fan, in keeping with stupid and recent tradition, heaved the ball back on the field. Unfortunately, he was a bit too enthusiastic with his throw ...
The @Twins should probably think about giving this fan a contract.

Besides the whole almost nailing Brian Dozier thing... pic.twitter.com/3tsjhRZalF
As you can see, the fan almost struck Twins second baseman Brian Dozier with the ball and wound up getting bounced for it. Obviously, he didn't mean to do that, but that's the danger when you throw back home run balls. I don't want to exaggerate and thunder from the rooftops that THIS FAN ALMOST KILLED BRIAN DOZIER, but baseballs can be dangerous when thrown hard and or from long distances.
Look, give the ball to a kid or, if you still find yourself in need of cleansing ritual, then make a show of depositing the offending ball in a nearby garbage can. Just don't throw it back on the field. Otherwise, you might konk one of your best players. Be better, people.
