Game-used Ted Williams jersey goes for $137K in auction
A game-worn Ted Williams jersey -- that was also autographed -- was sold for $137,274 in a recent auction.
The following 1954-55 game-used Ted Williams jersey was auctioned off by the website Lelands.com:
Yeah, that was worn during game play by one of baseball's greatest hitters of all-time. It's autographed, too (see the right leg of the pants and the neck area of the shirt).
And it went for a cool $137,274 in the recently-concluded auction.
That wasn't the only item of note when it came to MLB memorabilia in the Lelands auction that closed on July 25. There was a handwritten letter by Cy Young in which he discussed how he approaches certain hitters that went for $12,947. Hall of Famer Mickey Cochrane's 1929 World Series championship ring was sold for $45,380 and a collection of checks signed by Stan Musial were sold for $15,666.
Some Man Caves just got a whole lot cooler.
