Garrett Richards loses no-hitter after six innings
Angels starting pitcher Garrett Richards had a no-hitter through six innings, but Dustin Pedroia broke it up.
Angels starting pitcher Garrett Richards had gotten through six innings without having allowed a hit to the Red Sox Saturday evening in Anaheim. He walked two, so this isn't a perfecto, but it was obviously newsworthy nonetheless. Dustin Pedroia broke it up to lead off the seventh, though.
Richards, 26, only has one career shutout and that actually came in his last outing, Monday against the Dodgers.
The Angels are no strangers to the no-hitter. Their last one came in 2012 when Jered Weaver threw one and there are 10 in franchise history.
