BOSTON -- After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the sixth inning, the Tigers grabbed a 2-1 lead over the Red Sox on Victor Martinez's two-run single in the bottom half. They had runners on the corners with no outs and were primed to break the game open.

Instead, Jhonny Peralta hit a little tapper to second base that Dustin Pedroia scooped and tagged Martinez as he ran by. Rather than go to first base for the double play, he threw home to keep Prince Fielder from scoring. Hilarity ensued:

The best part of the belly-flop is that Fielder landed a good four feet from the base. This Tigers team man, they redefine the term "base-clogger."
