Dodgers right-hander Zack Greinke broke out the ol' 69 mph breaking ball in NLCS Game 1 on Friday.
Even when he was a fresh-from-the-minors rookie, Dodgers righty Zack Greinke has always been a crafty pitcher. He's got a good fastball and a real good breaking ball, but he'll also mix in the occasional 69 mph bender just to keep hitters really off balance. Here's a pitch Greinke threw in Game 1 of the NLCS on Friday night:
That's a damn-near eephus pitch. That's also opposing starter Joe Kelly at the plate. Ruthless, Greinke is.
