Happy Anniversary: Fernando Tatis hits two grand slams in one inning
On this date in 1999, Fernando Tatis became the first and only player in history to hit two grand slams in one inning.
Wednesday may be the 100th anniversary of the first game played at Wrigley Field, but that's not all. Fifteen years ago today, Fernando Tatis clubbed two grand slams in one inning. Off the same pitcher no less: Chan Ho Park. To the video:
Only 13 players in history have hit two grand slams in one game -- Josh Willingham did it most recently, in July 2009 -- but Tatis is the only man to do it in the same inning. And he's proud of it too:
15 years ago i invented swag by hitting 2 grand slams in the same inning off of chan ho park...much respect to Park— Fernando Tatis (@FTatis23) April 23, 2014
Man if I hit two grand slams in one inning, I wouldn't be tweeting about it once a year. That would be an all day, everyday thing. So, so cool.
