Hot Marlins wish list: Miley, Milone, maybe even Detwiler, Doubront
Miami -- still keeping hope alive this season -- is interested in young, controllable starters.
The Marlins have won five in a row and eight out of nine following their come-from-behind 7-6 victory over first-place Washington on Monday to move into third place in the NL East at 52-53, so thet won't be doing any selling anytime soon. Low-revenue Miami isn't going to be a big buyer, either, but it is in the market for young controllable starters, like Wade Miley and Tommy Milone, but possibly even someone like Felix Doubront or Ross Detwiler, too.
Arizona has made it clear it isn't intending to trade Miley, an accomplished, cost-efficient left-hander, but Milone, who has pitched superbly for Oakland, is caught in a numbers game there.
Doubront and Detwiler would welcome trades as they prefer to start, and the Marlins could have some interest in either left-hander, though there could be a complication with an intradivision trade in Detwiler's case.
