Jeremy Affeldt's friends saved woman after car accident Friday
As Giants reliever Jeremy Affeldt drove home Friday, he came upon an overturned car. Fortunately, he was with some firefighter friends and they were able to help the driver.
Giants relief pitcher Jeremy Affeldt was driving home with some friends Friday night after the Giants' win over the Diamondbacks when they stumbled upon a car accident. As Affeldt slowed down, he could hear a woman screaming from inside her overturned car.
From there, his buddies took over. From the San Francisco Chronicle:
In a beneficial twist of fate, Affeldt was driving with firefighter friends who were visiting from Spokane, Wash., where he lives in the offseason.
Affeldt said one of the firefighters went to the driver's side of the car and immediately tried to soothe her, as he was trained to do. Some in the group -- not the rehabbing Affeldt -- got the door open by yanking it hard.
The woman escaped with only cuts and bruises. Well done, boys.
