The Blue Jays lost both Brett Lawrie and Jose Bautista to injury during Sunday's game, but only one is serious. Lawrie was placed on the disabled list with a broken finger Monday while Bautista is only day-to-day with a hamstring issue.

Bautista, 33, had reportedly been playing through some discomfort before speaking up on Sunday. He is hitting .305/.433/.526 (163 OPS+) with 15 home runs and a league-leading 59 walks in 77 games so far this season.

In addition to placing Lawrie on the disabled list, the Blue Jays also sent catcher Erik Kratz to Triple-A. Outfielders Anthony Gose and Kevin Pillar were called up in corresponding moves.

Bautista's injury comes at an unfortunate time. The Blue Jays play three games against the second place Yankees this week. New York swept Toronto last week to move to within 1.5 games of the AL East lead.
