Some bad news for Cubs outfield prospect Jorge Soler. The Cuban import has been diagnosed with a stress fracture in his left shin.

At a minimum, Soler will be in a walking boot for the next four to six weeks and will miss the upcoming Futures Game. According to MLB.com's Carrie Muskat, the team isn't yet certain whether Soler will be able to play again in 2013. Keep in mind that the minor-league regular season ends a month earlier than MLB's season.

Soler initially suffered the injury about two weeks ago when he fouled a ball off his leg.

This season, the 21-year-old is batting .281/.343/.467 with eight homers in 55 games for High-A Daytona. In April, Soler was suspended five games for charging the opposing dugout with bat in hand.
