Mariners center fielder Franklin Gutierrez has Gold Glove skills in the field and is an occasional asset with the bat, but he has an awful time staying healthy. That's again the case, as Seattle has placed Gutierrez on the disabled list with a hamstring injury. He'll be replaced on the active roster by outfielder Carlos Peguero.

Gutierrez is off to a .259/.286/.537 start in 2013, and for his career he owns an OPS+ of 90. In 2010, he indeed won a Gold Glove.

This marks the fifth time that Gutierrez has been placed on the disabled list. According to Baseball Prospectus data, he's lost 90 games to injury over the span of his major-league career.

As for Peguero, the 26-year-old has a .603 OPS in 212 plate appearances in the bigs. This season, he owns a slash line of .246/.351/.426 at Triple-A Tacoma.
