Maximum Puig: Yasiel becomes first Dodger with three triples in 113 years
Yasiel Puig tripled three times against the Giants on Friday night. He's the first Dodger to do that in over a century.
The Giants and Dodgers came into Friday separated by 1.5 games in the NL West, and this weekend they will play three pretty important games in San Francisco. The Dodgers jumped all over Tim Lincecum and won Friday's series opener (Recap).
The Dodgers scored five runs in the fifth inning thanks to three triples. They have five triples in the game overall -- they're the first team to do that since the White Sox in August 2011 -- including three by Yasiel Puig. He's the first player with three triples in one game since Denard Span in June 2010 and the first Dodger with three triples in a game since 1901.
Anyway, here are the videos of the three triples. I know that's what you came here to see. The first had to be reviewed because of fan interference:
The second was a straight gapper. It looks like Puig was thinking inside the park homer out of the box, no?
The third was another gap job:
Maximum Puig, baby. How do people not love this guy?
