The Phillies will be without veteran third baseman Michael Young as they host the Red Sox on Wednesday night as Young was placed on the bereavement list, according to the team’s official twitter account.

At minimum, Young will be out at least three games, and he could miss up to seven.

The club called up infielder Cesar Hernandez from Triple-A to replace him on the roster.

Young, who’s hitting .258 on the season, is just 5-for-42 during the last 10 games.

The Phillies likely will play Kevin Frandsen (.229 in 35 at bats this year) at third base while Young is out.
