Astros: Top pitching prospect Mark Appel has been moved back to extended spring training, as he's struggled early on with adapting to the Astros' tandem-starting setup in Class-A. The club insists he's healthy (Ultimate Astros).
Rockies: Former closer Rafael Betancourt is recovering from a UCL injury and the club has agreed to terms on a minor-league deal with him.
White Sox: They claimed pitcher Hector Noesi from the Rangers, Texas announced. The Rangers previously claimed him from Seattle.
Astros: Reliever Jesse Crain can no longer be counted on for an early May return, as he has developed bursitis in his shoulder (Jose de Jesus Ortiz).
Athletics: One report says A.J. Griffin needs Tommy John surgery, though the A's say a decision hasn't yet been made.
Diamondbacks: Mark Trumbo is out at least six weeks with his stress fracture.
Dodgers: Clayton Kershaw worked five innings in his rehab assignment for High-A Rancho Cucamonga. He allowed just two hits and one run while striking out six (MiLB.com box score).
Nationals: Bryce Harper appeared to hurt his thumb on a head-first slide. He and the club say it's only jammed.
Pirates: Jason Grilli will be placed on the disabled list Saturday. Also, Russell Martin left Friday's game early due to tightness in his left hamstring, the club announced. He'll be re-evaluated Saturday.
Rangers: Adrian Beltre is back from the DL while Kevin Kouzmanoff may need surgery. Also, Shin-Soo Choo is expecting to avoid a DL stint despite his ankle still needing to heal a bit more (star-telegram.com).
Reds: Both Todd Frazier and Devin Mesoraco left Friday's game with injuries. Frazier's groin issue sound like it'll only be a day to day type thing, but Mesoraco's hamstring issue could potentially put him on the DL again (cincinnati.com).
Tigers: Alex Avila left Friday's game with a left shin bruise and is considered day to day.
Major League Baseball: Thankfully, the transfer rule that had been really messed up by instant replay has been fixed.
Pablo Sandoval: Panda is seeking a nine-figure deal (yes, $100M) in free agency.
