On Friday, the Chicago Cubs defeated the San Francisco Giants in Game 1 of the NLDS thanks to a timely Javier Baez home run and a stellar performance by Jon Lester.
The two sides will meet against in Chicago on Saturday for Game 2. We've covered how to watch, now here's the starting lineups:
San Francisco Giants
- CF Denard Span
- 1B Brandon Belt
- C Buster Posey
- RF Hunter Pence
- SS Brandon Crawford
- LF Angel Pagan
- 3B Conor Gillaspie
- 2B Joe Panik
- RHP Jeff Samardzija
Chicago Cubs
- CF Dexter Fowler
- 3B Kris Bryant
- 1B Anthony Rizzo
- LF Ben Zobrist
- SS Addison Russell
- RF Jason Heyward
- 2B Javier Baez
- C Willson Contreras
- RHP Kyle Hendricks
The Giants have inserted Span and Panik in place of Gorkys Hernandez and Kelby Tomlinson in response to facing a right-handed starter instead of a southpaw. They've also swapped Crawford and Pagan in the lineup. The only change for the Cubs is inserting Contreras behind the plate. This will be his first career postseason start.
