- San Diego Padres : Our MLB insider reports that the Pads appear to be homing in on New York Yankees assistant GM Billy Eppler as their next general manager. 


- Los Angeles Angels : RHP Mike Morin has been placed on the DL because of a cut on his left foot -- an injury he suffered while walking on the beach. (Alden Gonzalez via Twitter)

- Toronto Blue Jays : 3B Brett Lawrie (broken finger) has bene activated from the DL in advance of Tuesday's big series opener against the Baltimore Orioles . Lawrie, 24, is batting .244/.299/.419 (96 OPS+) on the season with 12 homers in 69 games.

- Los Angeles Dodgers : RHP Chris Perez is headed to the DL with bone spurs in his right ankle. (Mark Saxon via Twitter)

- San Francisco Giants : RHP Matt Cain will soon undergo season-ending surgery to remove bone chips from his elbow. 

- Washington Nationals : Placed OF Nate McLouth on the DL with a right shoulder injury. (Adam Kilgore and James Wagner, Washington Post)

- Pittsburgh Pirates : CF Andrew McCutchen may be sidelined for the next month with a strained oblique. 

- Yankees: RHP Masahiro Tanaka felt good after throwing for the first time since injuring his elbow ligament. 


- Chicago Cubs : Will reportedly call up highly regarded prospect Javier Baez on Tuesday.

- New York Mets : Designated OF Bobby Abreu for assignment. Per MLB rules, the team now has 10 days to trade, release or waive him.

- Nationals: C Wilson Ramos will take three days of paternity leave starting Tuesday. (James Wagner, Washington Post)
