New York Yankees : Minor league RHP Alfredo Aceves was suspended 50 games after testing positive for marijuana. It was his second offense.


Oakland Athletics : Activated LHP Eric O'Flaherty (Tommy John surgery) off the 15-day DL. LHP Jeff Francis was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Colorado Rockies : Activated 3B Nolan Arenado (finger) off the 15-day DL. LHP Christian Friedrich was sent to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Chicago White Sox : Have placed LHP Scott Downs on waivers for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release. (

Yankees: Called up UTIL Zelous Wheeler and optioned UTIL Yangervis Solarte to Triple-A, the team announced. IF Dean Anna was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.


New York Mets : Assistant GM John Ricco said the club has not had any recent trade talks about 2B Daniel Murphy (New York Daily News) ... they will "listen to offers" and may "actively shop" RHP Bartolo Colon before the trade deadline. (New York Post)

Houston Astros : Still working to finalize a contract with first overall pick LHP Brady Aiken. The two sides were reportedly close to a deal nine days ago. (Jon Heyman)

Indians: Signed 38th overall pick 1B/OF Mike Papi to a slightly below-slot $1.25 million bonus, the team announced.


Athletics: 3B Josh Donaldson did not play for the second straight game due to a stiff back.

St. Louis Cardinals : LHP Jaime Garcia (shoulder) is getting additional opinions before determining the next step in his rehab. (

Los Angeles Dodgers : SS Hanley Ramirez (calf) returned to the lineup and will play "a couple of days here and a couple of days there," according to manager Don Mattingly.

MLBPA: The union is investigating agents that may have been involved in last year's Biogenesis scandal.

Athletics: Signed a new 10-year lease to remain at the Coliseum. There will be $10 million worth of upgrades as well.

Chicago Cubs : The rooftop owners won't sue the team if they only add two signs to Wrigley Field as part of their upcoming renovation.

Boston Red Sox : Manager John Farrell said the team has not considered sending IF Xander Bogaerts to Triple-A despite his massive slump.
