MLB rumors, injuries and news roundup for May 9
Friday's recap includes injury updates on Alex Cobb, Joe Mauer, Coco Crisp, Ryan Cook, Chris Davis and Hyun-Jin Ryu, among others.
Friday's on-field action was dominated by Yu Darvish , who lost a no-hitter against the defending World Series champion Boston Red Sox with two outs in the ninth. David Ortiz pulled a seeing eye single through the infield shift. Had Darvish completed the no-hitter, it would have come with a controversial error call.
Here is a recap of Friday's non-near-no-hitter news from around the league.
