RUMORS & SPECULATION
OF Rusney Castillo: The Chicago Cubs , Chicago White Sox , Atlanta Braves and San Francisco Giants all have interst in the free agent Cuban outfielder, who has been compared to speedy leadoff hitter types like Jacoby Ellsbury and Brett Gardner . (MLB.com)
Toronto Blue Jays : Having "ongoing dialogue" with the San Diego Padres about 3B Chase Headley . (Fox Sports)
Braves: Not actively trying to upgrade their starting rotation at the moment. (Fox Sports)
Giants: Have interest in SS Asdrubal Cabrera and IF Mike Aviles of the Cleveland Indians . (Fox Sports)
Miami Marlins : Leaning towards selling at the deadline. Closer RHP Steve Cishek is the most likely player to be moved because he is about to get expensive through arbitration. (Fox Sports)

Baltimore Orioles : Discussing a trade for RHP A.J. Burnett with the Philadelphia Phillies .
Padres: Likely to trade impending free agent OF Chris Denorfia before the trade deadline. (Fox Sports)
Texas Rangers : Not ready to sell off all of their veterans, but there is plenty of interest in OF Alex Rios and closer RHP Joakim Soria . (Jon Heyman)
Boston Red Sox : Have received a lot of trade interest in LHP Andrew Miller .
Detroit Tigers : Have inquired about Arizona Diamondbacks RHP Brad Ziegler , but Arizona seems likely to keep him. (Fox Sports)
New York Yankees : Have not discussed RHP Ian Kennedy with the Padres. They also do not have interest in Mets RHP Bartolo Colon or Cubs RHP Edwin Jackson . (New York Daily News)
ROSTER MOVES & TRANSACTIONS
Los Angeles Angels : Designated RHP Ian Stewart for assignment and optioned 1B/DH C.J. Cron to Triple-A, the team announced. The moves clear a spot on the 40-man and 25-man rosters for RHP Huston Street , respectively.
Red Sox: Activated OF Shane Victorino (hamstring) off the 15-day DL, the club announced. OF Mookie Betts was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.
Houston Astros : RHP Collin McHugh (finger) will make a minor league rehab start next week. (Houston Chronicle)
Milwaukee Brewers : RHP Jim Henderson (shoulder) is moving up to Triple-A to continue his minor league rehab assignment and could rejoin the bullpen next week, the team announced.
St. Louis Cardinals : OF Matt Holliday left Saturday's game for precautionary reasons after a collision at second base. He did pass a concussion test. (MLB.com)
Diamondbacks: OF Cody Ross left Saturday's game because of tightness in his left calf, the team announced.
Los Angeles Dodgers : OF Yasiel Puig left Saturday's game after being hit in the hand by a pitch. X-rays came back negative and the club says he is day-to-day ... RHP Josh Beckett (hip) felt "better than expected" after throwing off a mound on Saturday. The team hopes he can rejoin the rotation next week. (Orange County Register)
Giants: 1B Brandon Belt was hit in the face with a ball during batting practice and is undergoing concussion tests. The team will know more about his status on Sunday morning. (San Francisco Chronicle)
Marlins: RHP Henderson Alvarez left Saturday's game after being hit in the leg by a comebacker. The club says he is day-to-day with a shin contusion.
Padres: RHP Joe Wieland (Tommy John surgery) will begin a minor league rehab assignment in the coming days (San Diego Union-Tribune) ... LHP Robbie Erlin (elbow) will throw a simulated game on Tuesday ... SS Everth Cabrera (hamstring) will run the bases on Sunday ... RHP Andrew Cashner (shoulder) resumed his throwing program on Saturday. (San Diego Union-Tribune)
Pittsburgh Pirates : RHP Gerrit Cole (lat) is scheduled to throw a 45-50 pitch side session on Saturday. (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)
Rangers: OF Alex Rios left Saturday's game with a sprained right ankle.
Cincinnati Reds : UTIL Skip Schumaker (concussion) has passed the necessary tests but must await MLB and MLBPA clearance before being activated off the disabled list. (MLB.com)
