Nationals' Denard Span is already sick of the traffic in Washington
Nationals center fielder Denard Span has a plan to beat the traffic in D.C.
Center fielder Denard Span has exactly one home series under his belt as a National, but he's already having a tough time with the traffic in Washington, D.C.:
Tweeting as I'm in traffic hoping to get pulled over so that I can get to the field quicker #omg— Denard Span (@thisisdspan) April 9, 2013
True story: I have a buddy who is a state trooper in Northeast Pennsylvania, and a few years ago he pulled over a somewhat prominent Phillie who was on an injury rehab assignment with the team's Triple-A affiliate, which was located in Scranton at time. The player asked for a police escort because he was in a rush, but it was late at night and he was on his way home from the game, not on his way to the game. That didn't go over too well.
So, yeah, good luck, Denard. I think you'll be fine as long as you're actually on your way to the park.
