The Athletics pushed all their chips into the middle of the table at the trade deadline, gutting their farm system and dealing their cleanup hitter to acquire a pair of aces in Jon Lester and Jeff Samardzija. After years of getting to the postseason and failing to advance, GM Billy Beane is going for it all.

According to the oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the moves give the A's the highest odds of winning the World Series at 4/1. Before the trade deadline, Oakland ... still had the best odds of winning it all, though only at 5/1. Hey, every little bit helps.

All of the updated World Series odds can be seen right here, though here is the top of the chart:

Before the trade deadline, Bovada had the Tigers (6/1) and Dodgers (6/1) behind the Athletics, so the top three spots are unchanged. Only the odds are. The Angels actually saw their odds drop from 9/1 to 10/1 despite adding Huston Street.

On the other end of the spectrum, the Diamondbacks, Cubs, Rockies, Astros and Rangers all dropped off the board following the trade deadline. The Padres, Twins and Phillies have the lowest World Series odds at 1000/1. The Braves at 18/1 seems like a nice bet to me.

Oh, and just in case you're wondering, Bovada has Lester re-signing with the Red Sox in the offseason at 3/1.
