More: 2013 MLB Trade deadline rumors and updates

The Orioles have acquired right-hander Bud Norris from the Astros, CBSSports.com's Danny Knobler and Jon Heyman have confirmed.

Norris, age 28, owns a 3.93 ERA (104 ERA+), 1.41 WHIP and 2.09 K/BB ratio this season. For his career, he's pitched to an ERA+ of 92 across parts of five major-league seasons. Norris has fairly strong fly-ball tendencies, so he should benefit from playing in front of a better outfield defense in Baltimore. He isn't eligible for free agency until after the 2015 season.

Earlier this month, the Orioles traded for right-hander Scott Feldman, so they'll have a revamped rotation headed into the stretch drive.

Headed Houston's way will be minor-league outfielder L.J. Hoes and minor-league lefty Josh Hader. Hoes, age 23 and a former third-rounder, has a career minor-league slash line of .286/.366/.380 across parts of six seasons. Hoes also has speed on the bases and this season boasts a .406 OBP for Triple-A Norfolk.

As for Hader, 19, the former 19th-rounder (and Maryland native) has some impressive numbers in his young career: 2.45 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 127 strikeouts in 113 2/3 innings pitched. Hader needs some work on his control, but that's to be expected of almost any young lefty in the lower levels.

The Astros will also receive the Orioles' Round A competitive-balance pick in next year's June draft.
