PHOTO: Andrew McCutchen's '42' shoes honor Jackie Robinson
Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen is set to wear some pretty sweet kicks Tuesday night in honor of Jackie Robinson. Here they are.
Tuesday is April 15, which means it's MLB's annual celebration of Jackie Robinson day. So during the action Tuesday evening -- at least the games that aren't wiped out by the stupid weather -- every player will be wearing No. 42 in honor of Jackie.
Some players do other, special acts as well. Pirates center fielder -- and reigning NL MVP -- Andrew McCutchen is going to be sporting these bad boys when the Pirates (hopefully, weather-allowing) finish the last three innings of Monday's game and then play a full game in Cincinnati:
Beautiful. McCutchen posted the following caption with his Instagram picture:
He was the definiton of the word change. Not only the change in race, but change in this world. #Jackie42#TeamNike
