The Mets' television network put an unfortunate graphic on the screen during Zack Wheeler's start on Thursday.
By now you know baseball is facing a Tommy John surgery epidemic. (Doesn't it have to be contagious to be considered an epidemic?) Way too many young hurlers are going under the knife these days and the game is losing its best and most exciting players. It's terrible.
Also terrible: this graphic during the Mets-owned SNY broadcast on Thursday:
Why? Why would you even put that graphic on the screen while young, emerging right-hander Zack Wheeler is pitching and young, emerging ace Matt Harvey is in the dugout on the mend from Tommy John surgery? Goodness.
